A multi-storey parking garage built by CSCEC Science and Industry Smart Parking at Sihai Park has recently been put into operation. Situated north of the west gate of Sihai Park in Nanshan District, the facility features 154 mechanical parking spaces and 17 ground-level charging spaces, making it the first zero-carbon parking garage in China powered by a photovoltaic, energy storage, direct current and flexibility system.

To park, drivers enter the garage, park their vehicle, exit the entry/exit zone, and wait briefly for the vehicle recognition system to capture the information. Then, drivers press the confirmation button at the entrance, and the automatic door closes to complete the parking procedure. To pick up a car, drivers enter their license plate number at a terminal, confirm the details, and follow instructions to the corresponding exit for pickup. The whole process takes approximately 90 seconds.

By integrating solar power generation, efficient energy storage, DC distribution, and flexible regulation, the garage operates as a self‑sufficient zero‑carbon smart energy system. Any surplus renewable electricity generated is fed into Sihai Park’s infrastructure and the garage’s charging points, supporting the park’s vision to become a nationally recognized near‑zero‑carbon demonstration site.
