Recently, the new railway bridge over the Tamiš River in Serbia—where CSCEC Steel handled the steel fabrication and installation—officially opened to traffic. Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech.
At the ceremony, Vučić noted that the completion of the new Tamiš River railway bridge marks an important milestone in Serbia’s infrastructure upgrades and its push for greater regional investment and construction. He added that the bridge will also improve the local road and rail network, support the development of nearby cities, and give strong momentum to Serbia’s industrialization, investment attraction, and quality of life improvements.
The Tamiš River railway bridge spans the Tamiš River, a key waterway in Eastern Europe, and is located in the city of Pančevo, Serbia. The original bridge, first built in 1880, has over a century of history. It underwent structural reinforcement in 1939 and for many years carried the region’s rail traffic. However, as modern railway standards have risen, the old bridge could no longer meet current traffic demands. In 2024, Serbia’s Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure began construction of a new bridge alongside the old one.
